Megs, Scarves and Sombreros

After a 5-0 demolition of Bayside Blues in Pennendale Primary’s first real match, Megs is on cloud nine. Particularly after bagging a hat-trick with half the school watching. But after scouring the papers for Val’s report, he is disappointed to see that there are only a couple of lines in the Pennendale Press next to the lawn bowls section and above an ad for Barb and Pete’s Bloomin’ Great Nursery. Not quite the big-time Megs was expecting, that’s for sure.

But Megs’s competitive spirit will soon be tested when the Wanderers discover that a major prize awaits the year’s champions. And things become even more heated when
Pennendale’s arch rivals hatch a mean-spirited campaign to make things even more difficult for the new team on the block.

Will the Vootball Kids band together in the face of adversity? Can Megs remain focused on football despite some spiky issues at home? And how will the Kids perform in their first season playing competitive football?
