Chris Tebbetts spent most of his childhood in the little town of Yellow Springs, Ohio. He loved growing up there, and like many writers, was an avid reader as a child. His mother often took him to the library where he loved walking the endless shelves of books and picking out a stack to take home. Some of his early favorites were the Little Bear books, the Curious George books, The Snowy Day, A Fly Went By, Harold and the Purple Crayon, and anything by Richard Scarry.

Later on, he discovered the books of Scott Corbett, Beverly Cleary, Donald Sobol, and most especially, Roald Dahl. 'James and the Giant Peach' remains one of his favorite books of all time.

In middle school he discovered theatre and was involved in many productions through his high school years.

At Northwestern University he majored in Radio-TV-Film and spent his junior year abroad in England, including an internship with London Scientific Films.

He later moved to New York where he spent eight years working in a variety of theatre jobs including carpentry, lighting, stagehand, stage manager and director. During this time, he also connected with a summer theater company in the Green Mountains and spent many summers putting on children's shows and musicals in Killington, Vermont.

Chris then moved to a small town in Vermont and returned to writing. What he's realized he enjoys most - whether it's through books, television or movies - is the essence of storytelling.
