Tyler has been making comics and illustrations professionally for over fifteen years. He was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2003, and in 2007 was a recipient of the prestigious Xeric Grant.

His work has been reviewed by local, national, and international media from Entertainment Weekly to the Onion AV Club. Tyler has worked with a wide variety of clients including Hunt Adkins, Prince Tennis, Freespirit Press, Lerner Publishing/ Graphic Universe, The American Lung Association, Fairview Press, and Activision, among others.

Tyler is also the writer/artist and publisher of the Stylish Vittles and Nothing Better comics series. He is married to the children's book author and illustrator Cori Doerrfeld with whom he collaborated for the Cici series. They have two children and live in Minneapolis.
