Sarah Webb is an award winning writer for both children and adults. She worked in the book trade for many years as a children’s bookseller and buyer. She now combines writing with schools visits, reading and giving workshops at festivals, and reviewing children’s books for the Irish Independent. She is also the Children’s Curator of the Mountains to Sea Book Festival and in 2015 was awarded the Children’s Books Ireland Award for Outstanding Contribution to Children’s Books.

She lives in Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin, with her partner and three children and spends as much time as possible in Castletownshend, West Cork.

Author's Comment:

What first interested you in writing for children?

Reading and being a massive book worm, both as a child and now. I never stopped reading children’s books (or listening to Abba). So it seemed a natural thing for me to do. Plus I was running the children’s department in Waterstone’s, Dawson Street when I first started writing for children – I was surrounded by wonderful books and met hundreds of inspirational children’s writers while I worked there – from J K Rowling to Judy Blume. I had no excuse – I had to write!
