Chrissie Keighery
Before writing stories for a living, Chrissie Keighery worked as a salesperson, a waitress, a receptionist, a house model and a high school English teacher.
She currently lives in Melbourne with her husband and three children. Her teenage daughter has played a big part in her writing process, helping to build and expand the cast of her books until the characters have become part of the family. Chrissie has published almost 40 books in total ranging from adult fiction to educational and non-fiction titles. She also writes for the best-selling 'Go Girl' series under the name Chrissie Perry.
When Chrissie writes for older children and adults, she uses the name Chrissie Keighery. In 2007, she was a winner in the ABC Radio National Short Story Competition.
Author's Comment: Q: What inspires your writing?
A: Generally, I am inspired by people's perspectives. It never ceases to amaze me how the world, and individual experiences, can be interpreted so differently. I like to explore this. As such, my writing is almost always character driven, and plot is often there to illuminate character choices.

A: ...recorded in a series of diaries in which my best friend made many appearances. Lots of angst and a fair whack of romance; both for people and experiences.
