Andrew Weldon is a freelance cartoonist, specialising in political and gag cartoons, based in Melbourne, Australia. His cartoons currently appear regularly in The Age newspaper, The Big Issue Australia and Medical Observer. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Spectator, Private Eye, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian and The Bulletin. He won the Australian Cartoonists’ Association 2011 Stanley Award for Best Gag Cartoonist, and has twice been nominated for the Gold Stanley (2007; 2011). He has published two collections of gag cartoons, both in Australia and the United States. Andrew's most recent projects include a picture story book created with his partner, Mary Ellen Jordan Lazy Daisy, Busy Lizzie (2011) and the Don't Look Now series with acclaimed children's and young adult writer Paul Jennings.
