Ben Wood is a freelance illustrator based in Sydney, Australia. Having been an illustrator for more than ten years, he has developed a wide range of illustration styles and skills using both traditional and digital tools. When not drawing in his studio, Ben visits schools to teach students about the world of publishing, character design, and the joys of creating stories.

What themes are recurring in your work?

I tend to be interested in illustrating stories that contain themes of 'home' and 'being yourself'. I like characters in stories that are true to themselves. Australian identity and bushland are also favourite themes of mine.
