American author, illustrator and film-maker William Joyce has put his personal stamp on all types of children's media. His books include the New York Times bestsellers 'The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore' and 'The Man in the Moon,' as well as 'Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King,' 'E. Aster Bunnymund and the Warrior Eggs at the Earth's Core!,' and 'Santa Calls.'

He's won an Academy Award for 'The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore,' developed character concepts for the animated films 'Toy Story' and 'A Bug's Life,' and made films including 'Robots' and 'Meet the Robinsons.' Joyce is currently working as an executive producer of the DreamWorks Animation release of 'Rise of the Guardians,' which was inspired by his latest book series. He is also producing 'The Leaf Men,' based on his book of the same name. He currently resides in Shreveport, Lousiana, and is the co-founder of Moonbot Studios. [Source]



Author's Comment: When my kids were young, they asked about where Santa came from and where the Easter Bunny lived. My daughter inspired me to do the series when she asked, 'Do they all know each other?'. My vision is to explain the mythology for these classic characters in picture, film and story form. [Source]
