Simon Mitchell
Simon Mitchell worked as a computer programmer before deciding to branch out and try writing in a language that consisted of more than 1's and 0's. He has completed a Diploma in Professional Writing and Editing at RMIT, where he wrote the first draft of
The Baked Bean Bandit, and was selected in 2008 to be the recipient of a May Gibbs Literature Trust mentorship. Simon lives in Melbourne with his wife, a 40 kg dog named Mabel and far too many computer products.
Author's Comment: Some of my all-time favourite children’s authors are Roald Dahl, Raymond Briggs and Paul Jennings. Like them, I try to write stories for young people that are fast-paced, funny and a little bit quirky.
